Solar: Energy & Water

Tashinga Initiative was thrilled to be able to implement an 8kva solar energy project at Chewore North’s Kapirinhengu Field Station.  This is now fully functional, providing that station with ample power for its various patrolling preparations, VHF digital and wildlife monitoring programmes and administrative needs.   At the same time, ongoing solar water pump maintenance and upgrades have been provided by Tashinga Initiative, providing invaluable support to Ranger stations and outposts where running water is a pillar of basic hygiene, health and morale!

Your invaluable donations help us to carry on this vital support!

We focus on strengthening Ranger’s enabling environment, for example, for his safety against attack from crocodiles whilst drawing water from the Zambezi River itself.

The Mid-Zambezi Rangers are the nation’s front-line of defence towards continued protection of endangered and critically endangered species such as Elephant, Lion, Pangolin, and Leopard. Tashinga Initiative is fundraising for ongoing necessary upgrades/modifications and maintenance for these solar-powered water installations.
